Calling All
Animators!

In collaboration with our partners

#AnimateCT is open to animators of all ages and experience levels.
The results can be viewed here OR by visiting the spots in person and finding the QR code.
Let’s show Cape Town’s creative talent to the world!

The Challenge

The Scene It team have selected 10 Hotspots around Cape Town. The challenge is to create a short animation featuring one (or more!) of those spots. Theme: UNEXPECTED.

01.

Register on our website to start the process and to show your interest in contributing an animation piece to this campaign.

02.

Look carefully at the video plates of our 10 hotspots around Cape Town (see below). Select which plate provides the best background for your characters / assets / story, and request a copy.

03.

Animate the video plate in your style, and submit to the platform to take part in the competition! Don’t forget to follow the guidelines.

(If stop-motion is your thing, you’ll need to visit the hotspot to film. You can also film your own plates in the given hotspots if you prefer.)

The submission page is available through your account once logged in.
